There are no more seats for this event — make sure you are getting our email updates for future events!

Join Shawn Behling, Assistant Furbearer Biologist with the WA Department of Fish & Wildlife, to learn about riparian restoration and the relationships between beavers and salmon. Shawn will also discuss WDFW’s Beaver Relocation Permit Program, which is seeking volunteers!

Tuesday, October 24th at 6 PM
In-person at RE Sources’ main room (2309 Meridian St, Bellingham, upstairs from The RE Store. Map here)

The beloved beaver is the largest rodent in North America (and second in the world only to capybaras). As one of the few animals that significantly modifies and creates their own habitat, studying their interactions with rivers is key for improving restoration plans.

Beavers mitigate the impacts of climate change, helping conserve water during periods of drought and enhance wetland carbon storage. They are one of the most cost effective and sustainable solutions for ecological restoration and climate change resilience.
