RE Sources Welcomes Callie Hamilton to the Co-Executive Director Team

After two years as development director, Callie Hamilton is stepping into a co-executive director role alongside Ander Russell and Janet Marino | January 6, 2026

Whatcom County, Wash. (January 6, 2026) — RE Sources is excited to announce Callie Hamilton has stepped into a co-executive director role, where she’ll be overseeing the organization’s communications and development teams. She joins fellow Co-Executive Directors Ander Russell and Janet Marino in leading RE Sources’ work to connect science, policy, and community action to build climate resilience in Northwest Washington.

I’m excited to help connect more people who care about this place to real, hands-on ways to make a difference in Northwest Washington.

Hamilton has been RE Sources’ development director since 2023, focusing on strengthening the organization’s fundraising capacity amid a rapidly shifting funding realm. She’s played a key role in expanding RE Sources’ base of support. Hamilton brings nearly two decades of experience strengthening communities through place-based nonprofit leadership and public service in rural Montana.

“I strongly believe in the power of local, collaborative action to create healthy, thriving communities,” Hamilton said. “When I moved to Bellingham two years ago, I immediately saw RE Sources as the kind of organization I wish I’d had as a resource while serving on a town council in Montana—one that helps turn community values into action. I’m excited to help connect more people who care about this place to real, hands-on ways to make a difference in Northwest Washington.”

“As development director, Callie didn’t just lead her team in growing our donor base, she helped us anchor in our values and build our resilience—all while navigating an increasingly challenging funding landscape,” Ander Russell said. “As co-executive director, I have no doubt that she will continue to expand not just our approach to fundraising but also how we understand ourselves and tell our stories. And she has the best candy selection in the office!”

Callie’s promotion reflects both her leadership within the organization and the confidence of RE Sources’ board of directors in the co-executive leadership model. This leadership structure has endured staffing changes, a new administration, and myriad regional challenges, and will continue to guide RE Sources into the future.

“The RE Sources board of directors is delighted to promote Callie Hamilton to join Janet Marino and Ander Russell as a co-executive director,” said board president Ted Wolf. “During her two years as development director, Callie has led fundraising efforts that have raised more than $2.8 million in contributed revenue to support RE Sources and The RE Store’s not-for-profit mission. We are confident that Callie, Janet, and Ander together will lead RE Sources’ work on climate resilience in Northwest Washington to new levels of impact and success.”

Founded more than 40 years ago, RE Sources works at the intersection of science-based policy, community science, and community engagement to protect the waters, forests, and communities of Northwest Washington and to promote a circular economy through The RE Store.
