The Ninth Annual Environmental Heroes Awards Banquet honored individuals who work tirelessly on behalf of our environment and advocating sustainability for our community.

2011 Keynote speaker: Denis Hayes

Known for his role as National Coordinator of first Earth Day, Hayes is recognized internationally as an environmental and energy policy leader. He currently serves as President/CEO of the Seattle-based Bullitt Foundation.

Hayes has received the national Jefferson Awards Medal for Outstanding Public Service as well as the highest award bestowed by the Sierra Club, the John Muir Award.  Time Magazine has also named him a "Hero for the Planet".
