Internship Opportunity: Digital Media Intern
Duration: June – August 2026 (start and end dates are flexible)
Hours: ~20 hrs/week (can be flexible to meet credit needs)
Availability: Flexible work schedule with weekly check-in; office space available. Ideally open to attending the occasional evening or weekend event as personal schedule allows

About RE Sources:
RE Sources is a nonprofit environmental education and advocacy organization located in Bellingham, WA. Our mission is to promote sustainable communities through science, education, advocacy, and action. We are looking for a summer intern to assist our communications team with content creation to engage and inform our audience and supporters.
Job Description:
RE Sources seeks a motivated digital media intern who will support the creation and development of video assets for an Innovative Waste Reduction grant to promote reuse throughout Whatcom County. Avenues for this work will focus on videography and photography, social media content creation, with opportunities to hone writing and design skills for multimedia projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a genuine interest in engaging with their community, and a drive to grow their skills and knowledge across a wide variety of mediums and platforms. Work will be conducted with RE Sources staff, community members, or independently.
Overview of Duties:
- Assist with filming and editing RE Sources’ instructional Circular Economy Skill Share Series workshops for online distribution
- Write related short and long-form content for RE Sources’ and the RE Stores’ email newsletters and social media channels
- Assist with social media copywriting and visual asset creation (Instagram posts, TikTok videos)
- Cover RE Sources/partner events with photography, multimedia, and written content. Types of events may include community beach cleanups, public talks, community science surveys, and high school environmental education service projects
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with RE Store staff to help advance the store’s mission and marketing initiatives

- Working in numerous creative software programs
- Strengthening writing skills and learning how to adapt focus and tone for different platforms and audiences
Required Qualifications:
- Interest in visual storytelling and multimedia
- Ability to work independently and in group settings
- Ability to meet deadlines and pay keen attention to detail
- Confident and engaging interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn, advance skills, and problem solve
Desired Qualifications:
- Background/coursework in videography, photography, journalism (visual or news), communications, environmental studies, or other relevant field
- Experience in multimedia production for student or local publications
