SUMMARY:Forest Talks & Forest Walks Book Club Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Forest Talks & Forest Walks is a different kind of book club\, one where reading is just the beginning\, and where our shared love of forests brings us together to learn\, reflect\, and connect with each other and the land. This group is for all people\, no matter your level of experience\, who are curious about local forests\, the issues they face\, and how to get involved. \nThis quarter\, we’re reading The Trees Are Speaking: Dispatches From the Salmon Forests by Lynda V. Mapes \nLynda Mapes\, a veteran journalist and environmental reporter for The Seattle Times\, explores the fascinating world of forests in The Trees Are Speaking. Drawing on decades of reporting\, she reveals how trees communicate\, support one another\, and maintain the ecosystems that sustain life in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Through engaging stories and scientific insight\, Mapes helps readers understand the hidden networks and resilience of forests\, showing us why they matter now more than ever. This book invites both reflection and action\, making it the perfect companion for our ongoing conversations about forests\, ecology\, and community stewardship. \nNeed a copy? You can purchase the book here from Village Books. Don’t forget to mention in the comments that you’re in the FTFW book club for 15% off! \nThis discussion in on Zoom! Join us here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82870700571?pwd=VgWZ34x7ASF9FsRtZAArhae5Ez3mAg.1 \nKnow someone who would love to join us?
