Community Workshop: Planning for Sustainable Recreation
July 7 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

What does it mean to “recreate sustainably”?
Monday, July 7th from 5:30-7:00pm
RE Sources offices, Main Room (2309 Meridian St, Bellingham). Go up the stairs from The RE Store parking lot.
Join RE Sources to learn how Whatcom County’s Comprehensive Plan process can be a tool for visioning and implementing policies that build connected, accessible, and sustainable recreation opportunities in our growing communities.
First, we’ll work together to identify which aspects of recreation and land management are most important to community members, and develop a vision of the future we’d like to see for Whatcom County.
We will then dive deeper into the Recreation chapter of the Whatcom Comprehensive Plan and work together to draft stronger policies and goals to submit as recommended updates to the Recreation chapter. Our comments will be shared with Planning Commission and County Council to consider and hopefully support at the July 10th public hearing, and other related meetings and planning efforts including the Lake Whatcom Forest Management Plan.
Light refreshments provided, all ages welcome!
