Our Programs


Recycling and Waste Reduction Education

Our Recycling and Waste Reduction education programs are hands-on, multimedia presentations available to any school, public or private, in Whatcom County. These programs are offered with funding support from the Whatcom County Solid Waste Division.


Cool School Challenge


The Cool School Challenge engages students, teachers and school districts in solutions to reduce energy use, utility bills and polluting emissions school-wide.

***In July 2012 National Wildlife Federation took over as host of the Cool School Challenge, and incorporated it into the Eco-Schools USA program. Now when a school completes the Cool School Challenge the automatically qualify for a bronze level award through the Eco-Schools USA program. Learn more at www.coolschoolchallenge.org.***


Youth Earth Summit


YES provides the opportunity for the youth environmental clubs to meet, exchange information about the projects they are working on and get new ideas and support from community members working in the field of sustainability.
