Oil refinery safety for workers and the environment

Join refinery workers and environmental advocates to learn about proposed improvements to oil refinery safety rules and how you can support safer conditions for all!
Together with speakers from BlueGreen Alliance, Evergreen Islands, and United Steelworkers, RE Sources will host an informational webinar at 6pm on August 9, where the press and community members can hear from refinery workers and environmental advocates about the issue and the proposed safety rules from WA Labor & Industries. After years of sustained advocacy from a worker-led coalition pushing for this rulemaking, the Process Safety Management (PSM) draft rule is out for public comment. There are upcoming public hearings in Bellingham on August 10th and 17th; in Anacortes on August 16th; and virtually via Zoom on August 15th. Details here.
