Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 7pm - RE Sources for Sustainable Communities hosts John de Graaf, Executive Director of TAKE BACK YOUR TIME, an organization challenging time poverty and overwork in the U.S. and Canada.  Mr. de Graff will speak at the Sustainable Living Center, located above The RE Store at 2309 Meridian Street in Bellingham.

During his presentation, John will talk about the state of the U.S. economy, connecting the current economic crisis to global warming and the environment, health care, and personal stress/overwork. 

This event is FREE to the public. Space is limited, so come early!

Meet the Author! April 1, 2009: Andrew Nikiforuk will present his book, Tar Sands, and discuss the impacts seen in Alberta. The presentation will be followed by a solution-focused panel discussion and Q&A relative to the presentation and focusing on what the Tar Sands have to do with Bellingham/Washington/The US, and the bigger picture of our cultural dependence on oil and considerations for a sustainable future.

15 Anniversary
Thank you International Coastal Cleanup Volunteers!

Volunteers and staff from Birch Bay, the Surfrider Foundation, Skagit County Beach Watchers and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities removed more than 500 pounds of garbage from beaches in King, Skagit and Whatcom counties earlier this month as part of the International Coastal Cleanup. The cleanup takes place in communities around the world each September in an effort to prevent marine pollution.

Robert Kennedy, Jr. Summer Luncheon was a success!
RE Sources had a rare opportunity to host Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for a summer luncheon to raise funds and awareness for our North Sound Baykeeper program. We raised over $10,000 to support our Baykeeper program. Thank you to all the businesses and individuals that helped make this event a success!
